Ballroom dancing provides incredible benefits to older adults. It encourages good posture. It provides low-impact, cardiovascular exercise. It builds community around dance as a social activity. By learning to lead and follow, dancers connect through non-verbal communication. Ballroom dancing has the power to bridge generational and cultural divides. Inspired by the idea that people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities should have the chance to dance, the Steps in Time program brings social dancing workshops to senior centers, independent, and assisted living communities throughout Greater Boston. Steps in Time is made possible in part through the fiscal sponsorship of Boston Dance Alliance, a 501c(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization. Contributions are greatly appreciated and may be made to Boston Dance Alliance, Inc., earmarked "Steps in Time," or by clicking on the link below. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The Steps in Time program is supported in part by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council, a local agency which is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, administrated by the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture.
